NZ CERTIFIED FOR PLAYGROUND SAFETY SURFACING |
Independent tests were determined by placing 2 types of measured depths of base course into wooden frames (Boxing)and adding different variants of rubber wet pour products on top. The critical fall height for each test was determined using the Triax 2000 (impact meter) and dropping the weighted head onto the surface from various heights and recording impact data. |
The safety criteria is determined and the safe fall matting will pass if the Head Injury Criterion (HIC) is less than 1000 or the peak deceleration is less than 200. Our Playground Safety Surfacing was tested by consulting coordination pty Ltd and was certified by them at NZ safety standards. SupaSafe Matting Ltd have received certificates for the fall heights below allowing us to provide rubber safety surfacing for any playground system. The more rubber we put down will increase the fall height criteria. |

Frequently asked Questions Q. Why can't I install "any" safety matting for my playground? A. The safety surface that you decide to install must abide with all NZ safety standards. Q. Why can't I install a 20mm thick surface around my playground which has equipment at a fall height of 3.0 meters? A. Because it will fail the safety fall height test. (NZS5828) Our playground system SSP20-0 or SSP20-100 depending on base situation will either give you a certified safety fall height of 0.7m or 1.6m. The more rubber we put down the higher the fall height. The system needed for a 3.0 meter fall height is our SSP100-200. Q. If I have a playground with equipment at different heights do I have to totally cover my playground with safety surfacing that is certified for the highest point? A. No. We can install our product to meet all heights. This allows us to reduce the rubber content in the lower areas which then reduces the cost to you. All leveling is done at base installation, so safety surface is flat once completed. Q. Once job has been completed am I able to obtain a copy of the safety certificate? A. Yes. We issue a copy of the safety certificate or certificates to our clients once installation is completed. |
